Most efforts must be taken in order that the construction of the new Guangzhou Railway Station in Panyu, Guangzhou, could be completed by March, 2010, Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning said during his inspection on September 11.
The station, located in Shibi, Zhong Cun, a town in Panyu in southern Guangzhou, will be designed and built to be one of the largest in Asia and world’s top, he said. It will become a modern, ecological and comprehensive transportation hub in South China. It is to be put into operation before the 16th Asian Games in 2010.
The station plan and construction should be in pace with surrounding infrastructure, Mayor Zhang ordered.
Vice Mayor Su Zequn and some senior officials of relevant authorities and district governments participated in the inspection.
