Symposium on China Import Fair of Canton Fair and the Development of China's Foreign Trade is being held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, through Apr. 28th.

It is aimed at helping enterprises stand trade opportunities and better take the challenges that the first Import Exhibition in Canton Fair brings.

The workshop is co-organized by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and International Business Daily.

Over thirty leading experts and researchers home and abroad, some thirty government officials and representatives from over seventy business organizations and companies from many fields attended the symposium.

The upscale event focuses on the hot topics such as "economic development and trade balance of China", "import increase and the trade transition of China", "exporters' competitiveness and trade development of China".

AMCHAM Expects Successful Future of China Import Fair

Mr. Harley Seyedin, President of American Chamber of Commerce in South China, gave a speech during the Symposium on China Import Fair of Canton Fair and the Development of China's Foreign Trade in Guangzhou on April 28.

"Now US companies are coming to Canton not because of the cheapness any more. They come to seize the opportunity to tap the large market here," Mr. Seyedin analyzed the current business situation.

French Trade Commissioner Seeks More Cooperation with China

Mr. Pascal Gondrand, French Trade Commissioner of French Consulate in Guangzhou begins his speech with the brief introduction of the location and Economical data of France on during the Symposium on China Import Fair of Canton Fair and the Development of China's Foreign Trade.

"France is not only a romantic country, but also a country of big companies. Many French companies have established their companies in Guangzhou, such as Carrefour, AXA and so on." Mr. Gondrand introduced.
