The Madagascar Trade and Investment Exhibition was held at China Hotel on October 11 and 12. This is the first time for the Exhibition to be held in China.

Nearly 40 key enterprises from Madagascar exhibited. The government sent a number of high officials to introduce the investment environment, to recommend cooperation projects and seek cooperation in identifying co-operative economic and trade opportunities with Chinese enterprises.

According to the reports, the trade volume of the two countries reached 250 million US dollars last year. The Deputy Secretary-General Chen Shaokang of Guangzhou municipal government pointed out that there was ample opportunity for Madagascar and Guangzhou to cooperate in the clothing, footwear, electronics and agricultural machinery categories.
