It has been learned from the Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou that its passenger throughput will realize more than 30 million people and the airport is expected to enter the world's top 30.

From January to September, the transportation and production of Baiyun airport has experienced rapid development. Its aircrafts' takeoffs and landings reached 193,188 times and passenger throughput reached 22.68530 million people with an increase of 12.36% and 16.78% respectively compared to the same period last year. During the National Holiday Golden Week, the increase in passenger throughput was as high as 37.5%. On the basis of this growth rate, by the end of this year the passenger throughput of Baiyun Airport will have reached 30 million people.

In recent years, the development of Baiyun Airport has been very rapid. In 2003, the passenger throughput ranked No.70 in the world; By 2004 the rank increased to No.52; By 2005 it had entered the Top 50 List; By 2006 the throughout reached 26.222 million persons; By 2007 it will strive to reach the goal of 30 million persons, and to enter the world's top 30 airports.
