"Seasonal service" for the elderly is now becoming more and more popular in nursing homes in Guangzhou, according to Yangcheng Metro Daily.

Ms. Shi, director of a nursing home located in the city, said that, as living standards rise some older citizens are less worried about extreme weather due to increased choices of residence. Some smart nursing homes have latched onto a brisk new business idea rendered "seasonal service" for the elderly.

Supported by this "seasonal service", the elderly can enjoy a more comfortable life in these new homes for 3 to 6 months then go back to their own homes after the cold winter or hot summer.

Bed vacancies are now in great demand in the city especially in some renowned nursing homes in old districts.
