"Hello, kids! After the salad we will have Tom Yam Pumpkin Soup before the main dish." On July 19, dozens of kids and adults congregated in a hall for a special dinner.
It was more than just a dinner, however. The group included children rehabilitating from cancer, together with their parents from the Guangzhou Cancer Kids' Parents Association. The group was being given dining etiquette lessons at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which has launched a Community Footprints project for the kids.
During the dinner, four top cooks from the hotel prepared food for the excited kids, offering introductions to each dish. Volunteers from the British Council and the Guangzhou Cancer Kids' Parents Association instructed the guests on dining etiquette during the dinner.
Encouragement was the keyword of the night. After going through the disease, the children were eager to share and have new experiences. One of the cancer rehabilitants delivered her love to others by dispensing hand-made crosses, encouraging everyone to be brave.
